potty training
So yesterday I made a “real” attempt at potty training Ayla. We’ve had a potty chair and a potty seat (the kind with the handles) for a really long time but all she does is play around. I think she thinks it’s a game. She gets on and gets off over and over again. She’s gone in the toilet only a handful of times and she is still not telling me before she has to actually go. So yesterday I decided to hang out outside with her play around the swings and slide but I took off the diaper. She had “big girl underwear” on and I think she felt like a big girl
She had accidents and right away I took her to the potty but no real success yet. I’m going to keep doing it this way. This method was recommended to us by our doctor and other people said they’ve done it this way also. We’ll see how it works out. I’m so done with the diapers and I think she is too. She was very upset when we went back into the house and I put a diaper back on

Me, too, so over diapers! We have tried different things with no success. And he needs to be potty trained for school starting in Sept. It seems like he just isn’t interested, and when he is, he will be great at it. I don’t know how to jump start his interest!

Maybe you should also try the “playing outside with no diaper” method. He will pee on himself and not like it. Ayla really seems to like her big girl underwear and seems very eager to wear them. She asks for them every morning, I have even had to put them on over her diaper to make her happy. I guess I have to keep explaining to her that she first has to learn to go in the potty before she wears ONLY her underwear.
